From Kayla’s Desk: A Year Filled with Community Partnerships and Fun Events

The new year is finally here and we find ourselves looking back with gratitude on twelve fulfilling months of community involvement, creative opportunities, and the chance to work with new, innovative people.

Here at Dale’s Remodeling the spirit of giving we experience during the holidays prompted us to think about all the wonderful partnerships and collaborations that have made this year so memorable. Here are just a few highlights from 2016.

 The She Shed Dream-Shed Project

Last Spring, in collaboration with students from the Career and Technical Education Center (CTEC), the Dale’s Remodeling team designed and custom-built a she shed for an online auction called “She Shed Dream Shed.” The response was wonderful and we were able to raise $3,600 for Willamette Humane Society (WHS) and CTEC; while our winner, Susie Kunzman of Aumsville, Oregon, came away with a brand new space to work on her art!

Bowser’s Boo Bash and the Custom-Built Catio

October presented another opportunity to work with Willamette Humane Society when we donated a customized catio to their live auction at the organization’s annual Bowser’s Boo Bash fundraiser. Our entire team is looking forward to the creative opportunities this project will present, as well as the wonderful projects that will come from the $5,000 the winner of our catio donated to the WHS through their bids.

The Spirit of Giving Continues Throughout the Year

Along with the auctioned items, Dale’s Remodeling was able to donate a total of $33,370 in goods and services, time and talent to many other area organizations in 2016—the Boys and Girls Club of Salem, Salem Keizer Education Foundation, Retirement Connection/Alzheimer’s Network, Cascade Football Club and Salem Dream Center, and additional cash and in-kind donations totaling $9,000 to Keizer Young Life, Liberty House and Pringle Elementary School. We know the benefits that come from the important projects these donations support will keep that spark of light we feel in our hearts shining bright long after the last notes of carols have faded away.

Happy New Year from all of us at Dale’s Remodeling!
