Fathers Day Q & A with the Dads at Dale’s Remodeling
In honor of Father’s Day, we surveyed a few of the dads at Dale’s Remodeling and asked them to share their personal truths about fatherhood.
Here’s what they had to say.
What is the best part about being a dad?
DALE: Standing back and watching your children grow into being responsible, beautiful people.
TROY: It’s all great.
MIKE D.: Having someone to blame.
MIKE A.: Watching my kids grow up.
GENE: Seeing your children grow and making a living at what they like to do.
What is your favorite past time to do with you kid’s?
DALE: Making s’mores around the campfire, spending time in the boat, waterskiing and snow skiing, and family dinners together.
TROY: Whatever activity they’re currently into.
MIKE D.: Hiking.
MIKE A.: Camping.
GENE: Spending time at hobbies.
If I had a dollar for every time _________
TROY: They asked for a dollar!
MIKE D.: I said be quiet.
GENE: I had to pick up my tools.

What did you want to be when you grew up?
DALE: Jet pilot.
TROY: Fireman.
MIKE D.: Fireman.
MIKE A.: Violin player or a concert violinist.
My kids got my ________
DALE: Good looks!
TROY: The girls got my height.
MIKE D.: Damn good looks!
MIKE A.: Stubbornness (haha) and work ethic.
GENE: Full attention.
What is the secret to raising good kids?
DALE: Encouragement and holding them accountable.
TROY: Love (and take care of your wife!)
MIKE D.: Ask somebody who knows!
MIKE A.: Spending time with them.
GENE: Giving your time and full attention to them in all areas.

What’s next on your wish list or bucket list?
DALE: Travel to Greece or Italy.
TROY: Visit the national parks in an RV.
MIKE D.: Travel overseas.
MIKE A.: To retire (Hahaha).
GENE: Seeing the Northern Lights.
One thing you want your kids to remember about you?
DALE: Honesty and positive attitude. That you can accomplish anything you set your mind to against all odds!
TROY: That I love them.
MIKE A.: That I was a caring father.
GENE: Playing fair at all times.

DALE: “A Different World” – Bucky Covington.
TROY: Theme song to Indiana Jones.
MIKE A: “I Just Can’t Slow Down” – Joe Satriani.
